AQUA TERRA INOVA background

INNOVATION IN THE WORLD OF WATER

We specialize in aquatic ecosystems, biodiversity monitoring and environmental consulting

About Us

AQUA TERRA INOVA s.r.o., founded in 2021, focuses on the protection of aquatic ecosystems, biological supervision during water construction works, biodiversity monitoring, fish pass functionality testing, and applied research in water management.

  • It provides expert support for water-management projects and delivers training for state employees as well as staff of construction and design companies in the environmental context of interventions in river environments.
  • It also systematically focuses on mapping damaged forest soils, analyzing hydrological conditions, and proposing measures to increase landscape water-retention capacity.
  • It designs specific solutions for effective water retention in the territory and for strengthening long-term landscape stability.

Our Team

Our team specializations and professional focus

Mgr. Renata Vojkovská, Ph.D.

Mgr. Renata Vojkovská, Ph.D.

Watercourses Specialist

In her practice, Renata Vojkovska connects experience from public administration with expert work in the private sector. She focuses on landscape water-retention projects, biological supervision during construction on watercourses, specialist surveys, and crayfish capture and transfer. She began working on aquatic invertebrates during her doctoral studies at the University of Ostrava, where she specialized in comparative crayfish morphology. She now applies this expertise mainly as a team member and project coordinator working on restoration and protection of aquatic environments and water-dependent organisms.

Mgr. Ondřej Vala

Mgr. Ondřej Vala

GIS & Data Specialist

Ondrej is currently a doctoral student of environmental geography at the Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology at the University of Ostrava. In his work, he integrates pedology, geomorphology, and hydrology, focusing on water regime function and soil processes in forest landscapes. He builds on previous experience in fluvial geomorphology, river management, and landscape water retention, and his professional profile also includes earlier international placements in Argentina and Ethiopia that broadened his field perspective across different landscape conditions. He currently specializes in data analysis and combining artificial intelligence with GIS technologies, especially for spatial data interpretation, landscape process modeling, and automation of mapping and analytical outputs.

Ing. Zuzana Weissová

Project Manager

After studying at the University of Economics in Prague and working for several years in controlling in the Czech Republic and abroad, Zuzana joined our team thanks to her sporting spirit, her interest in nature, and her desire to contribute to meaningful projects. After experience as a forest road network mapper and later as a mapping project coordinator, her main focus today is project preparation and coordination, with occasional field mapping to clear her head.

Ing. Jan Kohout, Ph.D.

Ing. Jan Kohout, Ph.D.

Ichthyologist

Jan Kohout studied fisheries at Mendel University in Brno and subsequently at the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters, University of South Bohemia in Vodňany. He has long focused on the management of trout fisheries with an emphasis on protecting wild populations, particularly of brown trout. His work builds on genetic analyses conducted during his time at the Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Liběchov and at the Institute of Zoology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. He serves as the fisheries warden of MO ČRS Domašov nad Bystřicí.

Mgr. Iva Buriánková, Ph.D.

Mgr. Iva Buriánková, Ph.D.

Specialist in hydrobiology and microbial molecular ecology

Graduate in Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Science, Palacký University in Olomouc, specializing in hydrobiology and microbial molecular ecology. She later applied this expertise at the Institute of Experimental Biology of Masaryk University in Brno. After concluding her academic career, she felt compelled to return to field work in nature. She founded Aqua Revita s.r.o., where she focuses on water retention in the landscape, biological supervision, and biological assessments. She also collaborates with AQUA TERRA INOVA s.r.o. on fish passage monitoring.

Mgr. Zdeněk Vogl

Mgr. Zdeněk Vogl

Hydrobiologist

Zdeněk Vogl studied hydrobiology at Palacký University Olomouc. He subsequently worked at the headquarters of the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic as an expert adviser in the Department of Aquatic Ecosystem Management. In 2018, he became secretary of the expert group of the Fish Pass Commission established under the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic. Among other activities, he contributed to the 2020 update of the Ministry of the Environment document Concept for Ensuring the Passability of the River Network of the Czech Republic. He has also presented the issue of ensuring the continuity of watercourses in the Czech Republic at the international level. He currently focuses on the restoration of the natural functions of river ecosystems. He specializes in consultancy related to improving the migratory passability of watercourses and downstream fish protection in connection with the operation of small hydropower plants. He is involved in a number of innovative projects and works closely with AQUA TERRA INOVA, s.r.o., where he primarily coordinates the verification of the biological functionality of fish passes.
